CNC milling uses rotating cutting tools and is suited to plates, housings, pockets and multi-sided geometry. CNC turning rotates the workpiece and is efficient for round products such as shafts, sleeves and bushings.

General tolerances are confirmed by drawing and material. Many features are produced around +/-0.05 mm, while selected critical features may target +/-0.01 mm after engineering review.

Avoid unnecessarily tight tolerances, deep narrow pockets, sharp internal corners and difficult tool access. Standard materials, realistic surface requirements and flexible quantities also help reduce cost.
